Chocolate & Wheat Germ Brownies

1 6 oz. package of semi-sweet chocolate chips 3 teaspoons butter ¾ Cup oats 1/3 Cup wheat germ 1/3 Cup powdered milk ½ teaspoon baking powder ½ Cup chopped nuts 4 egg whites 1/3 Cup brown sugar (packed) 1 teaspoon vanilla
Melt chocolate chips and butter. Combine the dry ingredients, except for the sugar. In another large bowl, beat the egg whites with sugar and vanilla until slightly thick. Stir in the chocolate mixture and then the dry ingredients. Spread in an 8-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray. Bake 20 to 35 minutes until the edges are firm and the top is crisp.
